This week we will be reading I’m a Caterpillar by Jean Marzolio. This week’s high frequency words are done, push, know, visit, and wait. You may also want to work on the words: caterpillar, crawl, pupa, shiver, and chrysalis. These are words that are in the story that your child may be unfamiliar with while they are reading.
This week in phonics we will be working on r-controlled vowels: ir, er, and ur.We will also be working with contractions. This week’s spelling words will be challenging for the students because they will have to rely mainly on memory to spell the words, since each r-controlled has the same sound.
TIP:buy a set of addition fact cards from the dollar store to practice at home.
